Tidegate Command

Tidegate Command hands you a stretch of coastline and a slow-rising set of threats, and asks you to build something that lasts. It sits between a builder and a real-time strategy game — you lay out resource lines during calm stretches, then watch them get tested when the tide of enemies rolls in.

The clever part is how it forces you to plan under a clock. You can pause to queue orders, but you can't pause the ocean forever. I lost my first two towns and learned more from those failures than from any tutorial. Once it clicks, the satisfaction of a well-defended layout is real.

Touch controls hold up well, with a smart radial menu that keeps commands within thumb's reach. It's meatier than it looks in screenshots, and it rewards players who like to think a few moves ahead.
