About
Onyx Play started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping screenshots of games we couldn't put down. At some point the recommendations got too good to keep private, so we turned them into a proper site. Everything here is written after real play sessions, not from a press release.,We cover every genre we can get our hands on: puzzles, role-playing games, strategy, arcade, racing, simulations. If a game runs on a phone and someone on the team is curious, it gets a fair shot. We care less about what's trending and more about whether a game respects your time.,Choosing what to review is simple. Someone pitches a title, at least two of us install it, and we play until we have something honest to say. Games that bore us still get written up, because knowing what to skip is half the value of a review.,We're small and we like it that way. No sponsored scores, no inflated ratings, just a shared spreadsheet, a lot of battery drain, and the occasional argument about whether a game's controls are clever or just annoying.
